Dr. Margery (Mercy) Runyan is an expert in the subject of twins. Born an identical twin on May 23, 1948, under the astrological sign of Gemini, Margery and her co-twin Malinda called each other ‘twin’ or ‘sister.’ No one could tell them apart!
The twins separated for college, spending their junior year together in Paris studying French. Margery earned a Masters in both Social Work and in Public Administration from Rutgers and worked for the New Jersey Department of Human Services for 25 years.
At 39, Margery received a call that Malinda had been killed in the crash of a small plane. In her period of intense grief, Margery was counseled by Dr. Jane Greer and participated in the twin loss studies of Dr. Nancy Segal.
At 52, Margery relocated to Durango, Colorado, teaching at San Juan College and NM Highlands University, and began to seriously pursue the subject of twins, reading every non-fiction work available and interviewing twins about psychic abilities, dreams, and images. She earned a doctorate in Human Services from Capella University, writing her dissertation on the dreams of identical twins.
Margery has a private psychotherapy practice treating twins as an LCSW in Florida, Colorado, and New Mexico and Certified Addiction Professional in Florida. She is a member of the Association of Experts in Traumatic Stress, Association for the Study of Dreams, Twinless Twins, Association of Certified Social Workers, and American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
